The Women in Defense Greater Frederick Chapter wants to provide its Chapter members with current information about volunteering in our community, particularly as it relates to supporting active duty military and their families. STEM Partnership with Frederick Visitation Academy
The Women in Defense Greater Frederick Chapter is actively involved in the local Frederick Visitation Academy’s new STEM program. The Visitation Academy is an all-girls school that was founded in 1846 and provides an educational experience for girls from Pre-K through 8th grade. We are helping to expand their STEM program by participating in fund raising activities, judging science fairs, exhibiting at Career Day, and assisting with educating the young girls about opportunities in STEM-related fields. If you are interested in helping with this program, please contact email@example.com.
Support of the National Civil War Medicine Museum
The Women in Defense Greater Frederick Chapter has held several programs at the National Civil War Medicine Museum in Frederick, MD. Additionally, there are two other museums managed by this organization – the Pry House Field Hospital Museum in Antietam, MD and the Clara Barton Missing Soldiers Office in Washington, DC. The museum is known for the annual Letterman Award dinner during which an individual and group are recognized for outstanding contributions to improving medical processes and patient outcomes. Keep an eye out for future partnership events.
