The Women in Defense (WID) - Chesapeake Bay Chapter was pleased to participate in the 4th annual NAVAIR Women Moving Forward Symposium held on 19 July 2011 at the River's Edge Conference Center in Patuxent River, MD. The theme of this year's event was "Moving Beyond Myths".
The event featured Dr. Lois Frankel, author of the soon to be released "Nice Girls Just Don't Get It", in an expanded morning session. Dr. Frankel took a deep dive into the subject of "unconscious mistakes women make that sabotage their careers".
The Key Note speaker for the event was Mr. Dan Abrams, Legal Analyst for ABC News and author of "Man Down", a book which explores stereotyping of women and the resulting myths.
The Women Moving Forward Symposium is designed for NAVAIR employees from entry to senior-level, military and civilian, and provides valuable resources and tools to develop and enhance career success.
