Women In Defense Conduct Seminar On Contracting
Army Lt. Col. Lynn O’Connell, product manager for Army information
warfare, and Janice Menker, director of the Contracts Resources National
Security Group, which is part of the Concurrent Technologies Corporation,
addressed a contracting seminar sponsored by Women In Defense, in Alexandria,
Va. They discussed how to develop effective contract proposals, offering
insights both from government and private-sector points of view, reflecting
a combined government-contracting experience of nearly 50 years.
Picatinny Chapter
WID’s Picatinny Chapter held its first membership meeting on July
25 to approve by-laws and elect officers. The meeting was held at the
Officer’s Club at Picatinny Arsenal, N.J., and was attended by 45
WID members.
Iowa/Illinois Chapter
The Iowa/Illinois Chapter installed its officers at a meeting in Davenport,
Iowa. New officers are Mary Adams, president; Jan Masamoto, vice president;
Gail Smith, secretary, and Jean Ligeno, treasurer. The chapter held its
first annual golf outing at the Indian Bluff Golf Club in Moline, Ill.
HORIZONS Fundraiser
The HORIZONS Foundation conducted its Little Theatre of Alexandria Champagne
and Chocolate Fundraiser at the Little Theatre of Alexandria, Va. HORIZONS
scholarships are awarded to women who are studying for careers in national
security.
